Deities and Demi-gods
The following tables identify the costs for various powers and the specific powers that are available for purchase. They will not completely reflect the lists in the MHRP book. Some powers may not be listed at all or they might only be available to purchase up to d6 or d8. This is meant to reflect the fact that these characters are gods, and thus in keeping with actual world mythologies and the D&D basis (of power types for instance) that have informed our previous campaigns. Because of this, these charts may not allow a prologue character to be built again in the same way. This will NOT require any prologue character to be rebuilt, but these will be the rules used in the future.
further NOTE: some of these powers are broadly defined and will require DM approval/cost modification, depending on how they are specifically tailored to the character. Attack Powers and Psychic Powers, for example.
NOTE: Attack Powers can be as simple as getting a weapon. Gaining possession of a stone headed spear may simply grant you a d4 weapon die, not worth much, but its free. A bronze or steel spear may be worth a d6. Still free, but not much better. Finding a magic spear might get you a d8 or d10. It will still be free, as long as you have the weapon. Point here is there are ways to get some attack powers without essence expenditures.
This is meant to represent Lycanthropes or Zeus transforming into an eagle, rather than teh doppleganger line of powers in MHRP. Such a power may be possible but will require modification in costs and DM approval.
NOTE: this will generally have a limit, requiring that the character’s power die be stepped down so long as the size alteration is in effect.
NOTE this is primarily envisioned as a basilik or a gorgon’s petrification ability.
